I recently had the pleasure of photographing the Upwaltham Barns wedding of Laura and Ed. Situated just North of Chichester, I have photographed weddings at the barns many times in the past but this was my first time there for some time and it was lovely to see them looking as beautiful as I have ever seen them!
The ceremony and reception both took place at Upwaltham, which was perfect as I was able to photograph both Laura and Ed before the ceremony. Laura and her Bridesmaids were getting ready in the lovely Jasmine Cottage, which is located right next to the Barns so no worries about traffic. Laura was incredibly calm as were her six bridesmaids! Not to be left out, Ed had six Groomsmen – I love weddings with lots of Ushers and Bridesmaids, they are so much fun!
Laura was accompanied to the ceremony by her very proud father and Ed looks overjoyed to see his gorgeous Bride walking down the aisle to meet him. Following the ceremony, guests enjoyed drinks and canapes in the courtyard served by the fabulous team from Field and Fork. Fortunately the weather held and we were able to take the group photographs in the Cottage Garden and also go and take some couple shots up the Bridlepath overlooking the barns. After delicious food (I know I got to try it!) we were treated to some excellent speeches and Ed was suitably humiliated by his Best Man with photographs from his past.
While the guests were eating, I went to explore the surrounding area and discovered some perfect locations for some Signature shots and so we sneaked out before desert to capture them in the most perfect early evening light. Following the meal, guests enjoyed games in the garden and some rather fine cocktails made with Zubrowka Bison Grass Vodka, which seemed to go down very well indeed! I had a great time at Laura and Ed’s wedding and I wish them the very best for the future! If you would like to discuss Upwaltham Barns wedding Photography please do get in touch!
