It was so lovely to be back at The Walled Garden at Cowdray for the wedding of Alice and Tom. Although the weather hadn’t quite achieved the heatwave we are seeing now, it was dry and clear and the sun peeked through the clouds at times. The girls were getting ready at the couple’s home in Petersfield and it was a fantastic place to photograph the bridal preparations – light, bright and airy. I was a very happy photographer! The Walled Gardens at Cowdray is a venue that could not be more perfect for a summer day. The gorgeous flowers and features are just perfect for wedding photography.
Alice and Tom were married at the venue in a ceremony which included one of the funniest poems written by a friend of Alice’s. There was a lot of laughter as they made their vows in front of their families and friends. After the ceremony everyone enjoyed the gardens while we took some family photos and then we took the opportunity to get some couple photos among the flowers.
Alice and Tom had opted for long tables for their wedding meal in the Castle Room, which I thought was brilliant. It made for a really sociable occasion during the meal and with the simple wild flower table decorations looked so pretty. After the meal the guests enjoyed music and cocktails in the garden as the evening guests arrived. The sun made an early evening appearance to add to the charm.
The live Band Station Road entertained the guests for the evening, I can honestly say they were brilliant – a live band makes the world of difference to a wedding! Alice and Tom (or should I way Wormy and Pig!) it was a pleasure to photograph your wedding for you and I wish you all the love and luck for the future.
