On Saturday I was back at one of my favourite venues, Southend Barns for Hayley and Matthew’s wedding.
In the morning I went to their home, where Hayley was getting ready and there was a lovely atmosphere with family all helping to look after their young son, William. Once the flower girls Ella and Emilia arrived the excitement levels grew as the girls got into their dresses. Hayley was wearing a lovely dress by Paloma Blanca and she looked absolutely stunning! Before leaving for the church, the girls released five butterflies in the garden.
The ceremony took place at St James’s church in Birdham, where I always enjoy shooting. The vicar at the Church, Jonathan is one of the most lovely vicars I have worked with and the ceremony felt really uplifting.
Hayley and Matthew left the church in their blue camper van for the short drive to Southend Barns, stopping to collect William from home on their way. As always the barns were looking lovely and the guests welcomed the newly married couple with confetti as they entered the Collecting Yard.
As the guests enjoyed drinks and canapés served by Field and Fork, we took a few family group shots and we also went away for a few minutes to capture some signature images in the Bridal suite gardens. Southend Barns is well known for it’s brilliant outside space and this time I was able to use the bright tulips outside the Threshing Barn to get a little creative.
Inside the Threshing Barn, the tables were beautifully decorated with lots of personal touches made by Hayley including Welsh Cake favours and decorative hangings on the chair. Hayley had even made the cake! The flowers provided by The Flower Gallery in Chichester were very pretty wildflowers arranged in jars and jugs, which totally completed the look.
The speeches were very funny and Matthew certainly got a roasting from his Best Man! Fortunately Welsh and English relationships survived and everyone got down on the dance floor where the brilliant Deloreans were playing on well into the night.
I had a fantastic day and I would like to thank Hayley and Matthew for choosing me to photograph their Southend Barns wedding.
