Southdowns Manor Wedding Photography
I first met Fiona thirteen years ago and when she contacted me to see whether I would be able to photograph her Southdowns Manor Wedding near Midhurst I was delighted! When I met Fiona and Steve for a drink before the wedding it was so clear how in love they are so the day was always going to be special.
It was my first time photographing a wedding at Southdowns Manor and after the challenge of finding it (it is very well hidden!) the morning was spent with Fiona as she had her hair and make-up done by the wonderful Lorraine Clay. The hotel has some lovely areas for photography and I used the bright and spacious honeymoon suite for photographing the small details. Steve had given Fiona a golden last Rolo as a gift – what greater love can any man have?
Being early December, the weather was decidedly unpredictable and so after the ceremony, we took the group shots indoors but managed to sprint outside briefly for a large shot of all the guests and some of Fiona and Steve together before the heavens opened and everyone made their way in to dinner. I was fortunate enough to have been invited to join the guests for a delicious meal and entertainment by an excellent magician. Being nearly Christmas, the hotel was looking very Festive with several elegant Christmas trees and the guests each received a tree decoration as a gift on the table which I thought was a lovely idea.
After dinner, Fiona’s Dad, Steve and the two best men gave some excellent and moving speeches from the heart. In the evening, Fiona and Steve had booked a brilliant live band called the Fat Cat Soul Band who I have never seen before but who sounded amazing!
