Well summer 2016 is not covering itself in glory however for the wedding of Kim and Rob, the sun put it’s hat on and produced a gorgeous, warm and sunny day. I began the day at their family home, where Kim was getting ready with her bridesmaids. The girls from ID Hair and Makeup are always a delight to work with and they were joined by Kim and Rob’s song daughter who quite fancied herself as a makeup artist!
The ceremony took place at St Mary’s church in Felpham and one of the highlights of the ceremony was the young flower girls who all did a brilliant job of reading a passage from The Owl and the Pussycat. Kim and Rob left the church to glorious sunshine as husband and wife before being transported to Southend Barns in a vintage Rolls Royce. The guests enjoyed the ride on a vintage open-topped bus.
Southend Barns was looking at it’s very best with the gardens full of flowers and the Threshing Barn decorated with buckets of roses and gypsophilia and roses and pretty bunting adorning the beams. After a relaxing drinks reception and some family and couple photos, the guests made their way in to the barn to enjoy a delicious barbecue buffet prepared by Field and Fork.
The warm, balmy evening allowed for the cake cutting to take place outside and as the sun dropped in the sky we took some more photos in the cornfield, which was just turning gold.
The DJ from Toast functions announced the first dance as husband and wife and then Kim and her father danced together. Always a slight tear in the eye for that one! This was a truly lovely day and I wish Kim and Rob all the very best for the future.
