I’m going back to May today for the Sopley Mill wedding of Sam and Dave. This was my first visit to this beautiful venue and it was simply perfect. When Sam and Dave first got in touch and told me they were having a pirate themed (“more classy swashbuckling than Pirates of the Caribbean”) wedding I was there! Here are a selection of images from their wedding day.
I began the day with the girls who were getting ready at the Mill. Sam and her mother Kim and Bridesmaids were all totally chilled out despite the scorching hot day! The attention to detail everywhere was incredible and the couple had done everything themselves with help from family and friends.
The ceremony took place on the third floor of the venue with Sam and Dave exchanging personal vows and then everyone went out to the gorgeous gardens to enjoy Kraken Rum cocktails. Guests enjoyed lawn games and the stunning weather as we took some family shots before going in to dinner.
The dining room had been transformed with gold pineapple centrepieces, hanging foliage, lanterns and doubloon wedding favours for all the guests. The centrepiece was a pirate themed wedding cake by Choccywoccydoodah.
In the golden hour (the hour before sunset) we enjoyed some of the most beautiful light I have ever had at a wedding and we took the opportunity to go to the fields across the river from Sopley Mill for some couple shots. Sam and Dave are so easy to work with these are some of my favourite images from the day.
As the light fell, they did their first dance and then everyone came back outside for sparklers and fish and chips to round off a perfect day!
