My first wedding of August 2016 was that of Jenny and Richard who were married at Boxgrove Priory with their reception at Goodwood House. When I met them for a pre-wedding shoot, their warmth and enthusiasm was infectious and I was really looking forward to their wedding day! I began the day at the Goodwood Park Hotel where Jenny was getting ready with her mum. With just the two of them to begin with, it was a really special time and Jenny looked beautiful. The week before the wedding, Jenny featured in Country Life magazine so I just had to incorporate that in to the bridal prep photos! Jenny’s dress was from Pronovias, a stunningly elegant dress with a lace bodice and full length veil.
The couple were married at Boxgrove Priory, just a short drive from Goodwood. The is an absolutely beautiful church and the choir, made up of pupils from Westbourne House School, where they work as well as friends just filled the church with the most incredible sound. After the ceremony, we took a little time for some couple photos at the nearby Priory ruins and at the start line of the famous Goodwood hillclimb before they joined their guests for the drinks reception.
We took the main family photographs in the tapestry room, which offers the perfect backdrop while the guests made the most of the gorgeous weather outside. As always, the ballroom of the house was looking fabulous. The centrepieces created by the brilliant Spriggs florists, who had provided all of the flowers for the day and as favours the couple had personalised chocolate bars. After dinner and speeches by Jenny’s father, Richard and Best Man, Jenny herself gave a very personal and moving speech which all the guests loved.
A live band in the evening provided the entertainment, I can not say enough times how much difference a live band makes to a wedding. The floor was full and everyone was having so much fun! This was a lovely, classically beautiful wedding full of love, laugher and brilliant music and I am so pleased that Jenny and Richard chose me to record it for them.
