It was an absolutely perfect, hot summer day for Mike and Ruby’s Ardingly College wedding at the beginning of July. I knew from the pre-wedding shoot that this was going to be a fun wedding and it certainly was! Lots of Ruby’s family had travelled from Ireland for the celebrations and I began the day with many of them in the morning at the gorgeous Old Rectory in Balcombe.
Ruby wore a stunning lace dress bought over from a boutique in Ireland and she carried a bouquet of brightly coloured flowers with matching flowers in her hair. She was a really beautiful bride! The ceremony took place in the marquee at Ardingly College and there were some lovely moments including both Mum’s and the couple lighting candles to signify the joining of the families.
During the drinks reception there were lots of games to keep the children happy while we took some group shots in the shade. The marquee was beautifully decorated with flowers on the tables, lanterns hanging from the ceilings and so many little touches all set of by the cake, made by none other than Mike, the Groom and he had certainly done a great job! After the deserts had been served, the Singing Waiters took to the floor as a complete surprise for all the guests and also Ruby who had no idea they were appearing. They went down a storm, they are the best act of this sort I have ever seen at a wedding. All the guests absolutely loved the entertainment!
After the meal we took some time for some couple portraits in the nearby corn field and down by a really pretty lake before returning for the couples first dance as husband and wife performed by the great band In Yer Face.
